Dr. Latha holds a Doctorate in Agriculture and started her involvement in environmental conservation in the early 1990s through nature education activities in Kerala, which later evolved into research and information based campaigns amongst communities, community driven river basin management and environmental flows of rivers. Dr. Latha has been an AID Saathi in recognition of her involvement in the mobilization and reach out to river basin communities in Kerala and in the ongoing people’s movement to save the Chalakudy river from the Athirappilly Hydro Electric project. She played a key role in policy formulation and legal enactments related to river basin management, water and sand mining in Kerala. She was selected as Ashoka Fellow in 2012 for her longstanding work in river conservation especially for bringing the concept of e-flows centre stage in the context of dams and river basin management. Presently she is the South Asia Advisory Board Member of International Rivers and is leading the Forum’s thematic work on environmental flows.
Ravi is the Coordinator of the Kerala State Centre. He has been part of CPSS since 1990 and is the Secretary of the organisation. He is also a State Advisory Committee Member of Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
Rajaneesh has been working with Chalakudypuzha Samrakshana Samithi (CPSS) for the past 7 years. As Assistant Co-ordinator of the Forum led Kerala State Centre, Rajaneesh is involved in the coordination and execution of the field level activities of the project. He has considerable experience of the Chalakudy River basin and has also been involved in the movement against the Athirappilly Project, river bank mapping and sand auditing of Chalakudy and Karuvannur rivers. Prior to joining CPSS Rajaneesh has been an activist with the environmental NGO- One Earth One Life.
A Civil Engineering Diploma holder, Sreevidya has been associated with CPSS for the past 6 years. Essentially her work involves the maintenance of accounts and administration. She also actively helps in the field level activities of the organization.
Mini Dasan is a field assistant with CPSS. She is a former president of the Kodakara Gram Panchayat in the Thrissur District and is currently a ward member there. Her immense experience in interacting with the local population is a proven asset in the field level activities of the CPSS.
