Forum has attempted to spatially locate the important conflicts around water in India with the help of Google maps. The case studies documented by the Forum have been marked on the map. Readers can also contribute to this effort by sending in abstracts of conflict cases that they are familiar with. Send us a write up of 250 words containing details like the location, conflicting parties, nature of the conflict and contact details of important contacts related to this conflict at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also do send us your comments and suggestions. Forum is thankful to Suchita Jain for the efforts she has put in to develop this.
Please also do visit the online GIS platform known as the 'Environmental Justice Atlas' set up by the EJOLT Project team here (http://ejatlas.org/country/india
).The Water Conflict Forum is currently collaborating with the EJOLT team to incorporate some of its case studies within their GIS platform. The outputs are expected to provide a detailed descriptive picture of ongoing water conflicts across India in the hopes of their swift resolution.
